Treasure Chest Craft

Make your own mini treasure chest or a lift-the-flap 2D treasure chest.

This craft is suitable for the following stories:

Print out template of choice.
Cut out and colour (if necessary) pieces.
Glue base of chest on paper first. Place glue on tab of lid and match bottom of lid with front of base.
Glue coins inside box under lid. (Coins are Australian/NZ/Pacific denominations)

Print out both chest base and lid of choice on paper or stiff card.
Cut out pieces. For a stronger box attach pieces to cereal box card and cut out.
Decorate, if using BW template, with gold paper, gold pen/crayon or glitter.
Fold along lines to make a chest shape
Base - put a little glue on tabs (or use double-sided tape) and attach to sides to form box. Hint - use pegs to hold sides together as it dries.
Lid - cut along 'teeth' lines in tab. Fix both ends of chest lid to this rounded shape with glue or double-sided tape.
Attach lid to base by attaching tab of lid to inside of base (hinged side). Hinges should attach to back of chest lid.
Fill with chocolate gold coins or use chest to store cards with memory verses.
