Cape - Ladybird Costume

Materials

  • red fabric (cotton) 50 cm x 56 cm
  • black felt
  • red ribbon

Method

  • Turn fabric so that selvedge becomes top of cape.

  •  Fold in half lengthways and round off bottom corners.  (I traced around the edge of a dinner plate!)

  • Finish edges (except selvedge).  Round off bottom corners.

  • Make ten black felt circles (I traced around the lid of an aerosol can).  Glue or sew in place.

  • Attach a length of ribbon to each of the top two corners for ties.

Other Uses for Cape

  • Turtle - Make cape out of a tan or green fabric and create shell pieces out of brown felt.
  • Sheep - Make out of white fleecy fabric and make a small tail at bottom of cape.
