Garden Project Online.com Parent's Garden - this site has a number of projects (see bottom of page) that could be used in conjunction with this story.
Kids Domain Grow Your Own Corn - this idea using a ziplock bag is a great activity for this parable. Placing a number of them in different situations and conditions prior to the class could also be a great story illustration. Alternatively have children grow their seeds in different situations and get them to report on it.
